An Egyptian film scholar who got his MA and PhD from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow. He works as a full-time Professor at the Higher Institute of Cinema, Directing Dep. Azmy worked as Head of the Directing Dep.He wrote the script for “The Collar and the Bracelet” film directed by Khairy Beshara in 1986. In addition, he served as a jury member in many film festivals including the National Film Festival, Ismailia Short and Documentary Film Festival. He was also the president of the jury at the Pyongyang International Film Festival in North Korea.
